UNIVERSAL LAWS

1. Law of Mechanical Repair
After your hands become coated with grease, your nose will begin to itch and you'll have to pee.

2. Law of Gravity - Any tool, nut, bolt, screw, when dropped, will roll to the least accessible corner.

3.
Law of Probability -The probability of being watched is directly proportional to the stupidity of your act

4.
Law of Random Numbers - If you dial a wrong number, you never get a busy signal and someone always answers.

5.
Law of the Alibi - If you tell the boss you were late for work because you had a flat tire, the very next morning you will have a flat tire..

6.
Variation Law - If you change lines (or traffic lanes), the one you were in will always move faster than the one you are in now (works every time).

7.
Law of the Bath - When the body is fully immersed in water, the telephone rings.

8.
Law of Close Encounters -The probability of meeting someone you know increases dramatically when you are with someone you don't want to be seen with.

9.
Law of the Result - When you try to prove to someone that a machine won't work, it will.

12.
The Coffee Law - As soon as you sit down to a cup of hot coffee, your boss will ask you to do something which will last until the coffee is cold.

14.
Law of Physical Surfaces - The chances of an open-faced jelly sandwich
landing face down on a floor, are directly correlated to the newness and cost of the carpet or rug.

18.
Wilson's Law of Commercial Marketing Strategy - As soon as you find a product that you really like, they will stop making it.

19. Doctors' Law - If you don't feel well, make an appointment to go to the doctor, by the time you get there you'll feel better. But don't make an appointment, and you'll stay sick.

Current goings on

Please Note the Sidebar over on right side has a lot of Titles but most are empty as I set them up months ago for all of us to start adding to, as the current Ancient Mariner site hosted on my http://www.starsstripesshop.us/ domain name and placed on Goggle's server is slated by Goggle to be changed but for now I'm not sure how much or if anything will survive.

2010 Reunion planning for Las Vegas, NV end of September. Reunion Chairman is Rev. Bob Stover (CL 24).

Dear Rev. Bob:

As we approach the this years Reunion I would like to provide a dissertation for the financial considerations thereof.

On my review of the funding arrangements of the 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2009 and my actual managing the 2007 and 2008 Reunions' funding.

I have used the information to set the concept for 2010 Reunion financial matters. To Wit:

The registration fee charged the attendees will in no way be expected cover what the overall expenses will be for all the tour events, social festivities, entertainment, meals and incidentals deemed necessary and as arranged by you the Reunion Chairman in your efforts toward a successful 2010 Reunion.

This of course means that the Alumni Group Treasury will be actually subsidizing a major portion of the overall expenses as necessary, just and prudent in conducting the only major annual function of the organization.

Most sincerely,

Bob Burke

The following 2010 Annual Reunion Registration Notice was sent out by U.S. Mail during the week of 19 July to 470 members on the Roster. So far four have been returned stating Forward Time EXP but the P.O. was kind enough to annotate them with the new address thus allowing us to resend them with another 44cent stamp. Also several deceased notices have come in.

Here though is what composed the 1st mailing of 416

Great cap and polo shirts with Ancient Mariner logo are now available for purchase at attractive prices and includes free shipping provided by your Alumni Group. Here are the details_Your USNRMSAG organization has made arrangements with the Queensboro Shirt Co. to provide caps, tee shirts, polo shirts and other articles of apparel as well as miscellaneous of their products with the Ancient Mariner logo. Big attraction for many members is to receive the weekly Ancient Mariner "Sunday Log" and the accompanying Mariner's Midweek which are emailed to a subscribers list. The Editor of both is Gene Barber, Class 26. Will leave it here for Gene to tell you how to subscribe and perhaps publish some of the multitude of Thanks he receives for his efforts.

Extremely state of the art in todays communication technology yet so simple to use but even so you may want to enlist one of your great grand-children to participate with you. Please join in to edit the pages of this Internet website, create new pages, and certainly invite family members, friends and others to view and use this wiki and most of all see your goings ,comings & doings via text, pictures and videos. Just look at the folders where you can place page after page of documentary information for passing down the line.

In order for you add or make changes to a page you are viewing click on "Edit" at the top left side and when you finish your editing always click the "Save" button down at the lower left corner.

[Good work on this web site, Bob, a nice supplement to Gene Barber's Logs.]
